Toyon is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join a team designing mechanical prototypes of reentry 

bodies and related configurations. This position requires a strong background in the application of 

materials to the design of articles subjected to high temperature environments. This individual will 

play a key role in the development of the design of aerospace vehicles and evaluation of their 

performance.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and growth path ambitions: 

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) with emphasis on heat transfer, mechanical design, and structural analysis.
• Experience with predicting aerothermal heating in supersonic/hypersonic environments, including the response of thermal protection materials to aerothermal environments. 
• Experience using a variety of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and phenomenologically based boundary layer and inviscid flow codes is a strong plus.

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance 

required.
